LMP: 41 weeks and 4 days
First Ultrasound: 39 weeks and 4 days
Wow! I still have so many things to finish that day and realized that I forgot to leave some instructions for the yayas (nannies). So I had last minute instructions at home and took a bath first before leaving for the hospital. Naiinis na si hamey it’s pass 4PM already and I have to go to my OB’s clinic first for a check-up.
Pagdating sa Asian, my doctor was not there but left an instruction for us to go straight to Genesis. Would really like to talk to her first but I guess, God has other plans for us. I was actually having second thoughts on being induced that day.
Pagdating sa Genesis, kinabitan muna ako ng monitor para sa heart rate ni baby and for my contractions.Still no change, was still at 2cm. Then I was attached to an IV so they could administer the oxytoxinfor induction. Nung first try ng mga nurse, unsuccessful sila and pumutok ang ugat ko. Sakit ha pero I didn’t get mad sinceI really have a history na talagang nahihirapan ang mga nurse to look for a good vein. Yun nga lang, first time na pumutok ang vein ko. They immediately massaged my hand and placed a hot compress para d gaanong mamaga. A doctor did the second try on my right hand. He was successful but unconfy yung position nung butterfly.
If I remember it right, it was around 4:30 in the afternoon when I had my IV. At around 7PM, my OB checked on me. Since I was still 2cm dilliated that time, she let me have a light dinner. Wipeee!!! I thanked her cause I know for some, they were not allowed to eat.
I just wondered, how light was my light dinner could be?Sorry, but I forgot what I got. If my memory post-anesthesia serves me right, I think I had rice, chopseuy, and another viand which I forgot. I remember that I got rambutan for dessert. Ayaw ko kasi nun e. I was suppose to request if they could change it to something else. hehehe!!! I gave it to the nurse but not sure if she took it.
Walang ibang manganganak that time. Just me. I have my cellphone with me in case I need to call him. I just asked for his ipod para naman ma entertain ko sarili ko with the music and with a solitaire game. Mahirap matulog sa hospital bed ha and hindi pa ko makagalaw masyado since may monitors na nakakabit sa kin. It’s actually possible to shift position kaso ang anak ko ayaw maki cooperate! O well…

LMP: 41 weeks and 5 days
First Ultrasound: 39 weeks and 5 days
I think it was around 7AM when my OB came to check on me again. 3cm pa lang ako this time. Kainip no? Well, another good news for me, she allowed me to have a light breakfast. *sigh* Heaven sent talaga ang doctor ko
It was really a light breakfast: 2 loaves of bread, 1 scrambled egg, coffee (as if naman pwede kong inumin), butter and jams. Remember the last time I had my non stress test, at 70+ d pa painful para sa kin. at 50+, it was already painful!
By the way, according dun sa resident OB, they consider it active labor pag nag 4cm ng open ang cervix. So at this point, wala pa ko sa active labor.
9AM
I got full support from my family. My mom, my oldest and youngest sisters (who both took a leave of absent) was also with us at Genesis. My ninong was also there but he opt to stay in our room and eat the food they brought! LOL! Pero nabuking kami when a nurse (which I actually dislike) checked my IV.
ROFL! They were even there when an OB IEd me and hindi sila sinita even nung kasama nyang nurse. Hmp!
Sabi ko (in my very sarcastic tone), Hinde! Ang sarap sarap nga ng feeling e! :D
11AM
My inay arrived from the province. Ang dami kong suporta! Syempre tinanong nanaman ako kung masakit. Same answer! Kaya pala she called our OB.
12Noon
POTAH! Every minute or less pa nga sumasakit ang contractions ko! Imagine, at 18 super sakit na nya! Que Horror! Sabi ni hamey he asked me daw if I want to have the epidural already. Atapang atao a!
Almost 1PM
HINDI KO NA KAYA!!!! I asked hamey to call the nurse so they can give me my epidural. By this time, medyo malakas na boses ko pero d ako sumisigaw. D agad makapasok ang Ate ko since hamey’s with me (bawal nga daw more than one companion diba!) That time ina-administer na yung
epidural. Syempre d ko alam how big the needle was and I know hamey was not feeling comfortable with those kaya nung medyo nag take effect na ang anesthesia, ang nasabi ko agad k hamey: “Ok ka lang?”
According to my OB, it usually takes about 1cm/hour ang pag open ng cervix. So ang tantsa nila was around 7 pa ko manganganak. BUT NO!!! At about 3PM nagulat sila when they checked on me, I was 8CM open already. They called my doctor and they were instructed to transfer us to the birthing room, on the way na daw sya. While all this was happening, I was texting friends about my developments.
Around 3:30PM (Cheer leading competition at ESPN) ‘
My OB arrived and was preparing herself for the delivery. She was telling me and her stuff that they’re gonna burst my water bag when suddenly, it bursted on is own. I don’t really know if I know how to push but I guess I know!
3:56PM
Vera’s out! Hamey had the chance to cut the cord. *sigh* Ang gaan gaan ng feeling kahit pa the other resident OB was on top of me the whole time. Nakadagan sya I think because of the cord coil, baka bumalik si Vera pagkaka push ko.
After all these, they instructed me to rest. Nakakapagod but I was not able to sleep for two hours na nasa birthing room ako. I was excited to hold Vera. Just saw her pero d ko sya agad nahawakan.
After 2 agonizing hours, I was wheeled to our room. Kumain lang (ata, d ko na matandaan) ako ng dinner then I asked if they can wheel me to Huggery. I was really firm na magpapa breastfeed ako.
It was successful! According to the nurse there, magaling daw mag latch si Vera. Wow! That’s good news for me.
We stayed in the hospital until Sunday. Thank God everything went according to plan.
