This weeks topic in Wifespeaks is all about jewelries. As I’ve said in my post there, I am dreaming/hoping/wishing to have one Teslar watch for myself since Mama Mee introduced it to me when I got pregnant in 2006. Hmmmm, maybe in the near future I could afford one of this (more “side line” more moolah!). Ooh, I hope I can have one for myself on my next birthday. I have 10 months to go to save for this one. But knowing me, I’ll probably just save the money for Vera. Will see.

My aunt together with her friend established a home health care agency in the US. I think it’s been around for a decade or so. Unlike here in the Philippines, there are a lot of nursing home facilities there. When I was a teenager and before I experienced living in a different country, I was questioning how people could do this to their own flesh and blood, I mean entrusting your love ones to other people. I had no basis for this one and I know everybody has its own reasons for doing this, I admit that I just assumed since there are really lots of facilities like this there. But when I lived a short while in the US, I realized that life there is so much different here unless you are one of the rich people who could afford to have a stay at home care for your love one(s) or care for them by yourself like what most family do here. AND what difference does it make when it is just like hiring a nanny here for your kids?

Anyway, there are also available nursing homes in the UK and if you would like to search one near your place, you can try searching in Bettercaring. They provide information regarding available options good for you and your love ones. You could also join the discussion group and check what’s in it for you and your family. And when you have decided, you could also use their system in checking the nearest facility close to you. Register now to receive tips, news and updates.

Yes, it’s possible. I did it but the result was not as I was expecting it.

I was amazed to see when I tried to Google Turbo Broiler for Baking that it is really possible. What I gathered from the few articles I read is that it may take a little bit faster to bake using a turbo broiler compared to a conventional oven since it has a smaller space for heat to circulate thus making it quicker to cook. BUT base from experience, YES it bakes/cooks faster from the outside but when you try to inspect the cake (sticking a toothpick to check, if it comes out clean then the cake is ready), the 30 minutes (or less as assumed by others) cooking time using a conventional oven does not hold true for turbo broiler. It may take more minutes (which I haven’t tried yet) to fully cook the cake. Be careful though and constantly check the cake since it is possible to burn the top of it.

Anyway, the next time I’ll probably try to make another cake using my turbo broiler is on March. I will keep you posted on this one specially when I get a better result. *smiles*
