Do you know what CLA or Conjugated Linoleic Acid means? It is “a fatty acid found in beef and dairy fats. Scientific interest in CLA was stimulated in 1988 when a University of Wisconsin researcher discovered its cancer-fighting properties in a study of rats fed fried hamburger. CLA cannot be produced by the human body, but it can be obtained through foods such as whole milk, butter, beef, and lamb.” And what’s the good thing about this? CLA actually may help people speed up with their weight loss management. And I for one is actually interested how this can help me achieve my goal of losing 20 lbs this year! Good luck to me and my research.

I remember asking hubby as early as February if he has plans for the little princesses’ birthday this coming October. I asked him if we could just have it here at home or the village clubhouse. I just want a simple no fuss birthday celebration. He agreed.

Take note, I said simple no fuss celebration and yet here I am, so stressed preparing for the big event. Under pressure, I was able to make a design for the pinata and tarpaulin for decors. My sister was not able to buy the ones I wanted from a party outlet store. I should have bought it online. Nanghinayang pa kasi ako sa $7 shipping rate. Not my sister’s fault. The items were not available in the three stores she went to. Mas napagastos pa tuloy ako. :D

Anyway, I’ve ordered the cake and the pinata. They’re both due for pick up on Monday at 11AM. Made DP to the host. Contacted Nestle for the Ice Cream Party Package (hopefully it doesn’t contain melamine :D). I’ve bought the figurines (for the cake), loots and prizes. Haven’t really distributed the invites but already texted people about the party. Except for one couple, uh-oh! Must text them tomorrow. Baka mag tampururut. May nakalimutan pa ba ko? Will order food on Saturday or Sunday. Will rent tables and chairs and buy balloons on Monday morning. Go to the grocery on Friday afternoon. Hindi naman hectic schedule ko no!?

Hope everything will turn out great for the little princess. And that someone would actually give me a free massage for a job well done. Ay, d ko pala birthday para maregaluhan. :D

Who would have thought that I would be able to enter the US territory, who of all people was not interested or even itchy to go there. But since hubby was assigned in the US for a year and as a company benefit, his family can go with him. Free airfare, allowance, apartment and utility bills plus they were also the ones who worked on our papers.

Anyway, we stayed mostly in Michigan where hubby’s project was based. We just had few vacations in Illinois (with my aunt, mother side) and a stop at Los Angeles (with my uncle, father side) before heading back here in the Philippines.

We stayed in LA for about 4 days, just in time for our college friend’s wedding. But before the wedding, we went to Disneyland in LA to see Mickey Mouse and Friends and Sea World in San Diego to see Shamu. Since the little princess was just 9 months then, barely understands her surrounding, the mommy (that’s me!) was the one who was more excited to be there. Perhaps it was a dream that came true for me, to be able to step inside Disneyland and Sea World. The little princess did have fun riding the carousel in Disneyland but was slightly “shy” when she saw Minnie Mouse. I can’t remember if she enjoyed the show in Sea World. As far as I can remember, she slept on the best part or shows for both places. She was sleeping during the fireworks show in Disneyland and also asleep during Shamu’s performance.

Oh, I almost forgot, we also went to the Rodeo Drive and Hollywood Strip and saw Ripley’s and Wax Museum there. I bet Madame Tussauds wax museum is way better than what they have in Hollywood right now.

Hubby would like to repeat the experience for the little princess but it will only happen when she’s old enough to understand.

An idea occurred to me while cleaning Vera’s closet.  She has about 10 onesies that she no longer use since she has outgrown it already but body width wise, it still fits her.  So what I did was, I went to a professional tailor to have it fixed.  They charged me PHP250 fr!@#king peso for one onesie and since I really wanted to experiment, I left one of my favorites from Carter’s.  The outcome? You be the judge :)

After

Ayos ba? :D

The little princess is showing signs of kikayness.  She was fascinatd with my looped earrings and asked her if she wants one and she said yes.  I was kind of astonished with her answer.  So I just told her that we will ask the doctor if she can fix her previous hole.  She had earrings before until her ear was eaten up by her allergy, reason for us to remove the earrings.  There’s still sign of an outer hole but I am not sure if it is possible to insert an earring with that.  *Crossing fingers* Vera will surely hate the procedure!
