Time is Gold

I need to work on how to manage my time properly now that I'm working and away from home for 13 hours (9-10 hours in the office, about 3 hours travel time to and from the office). My posts are piling up and I have so many blog things to do! hay! Well at least I still have time to play with Vera. I have to do something. Will work on it this coming weekend. Wish me luck!

Confused

I have a Google toolbar installed in my firefox browser. I was quite astonished to see that my other blog has a page rank value. But when I tried checking it thru sites I know that checks for website PR, results came 0 or N/A. Ano ba talaga kuya?

How was your weekend?

First work day of the week, traffic as usual.

Anyway, how did you spend your long weekend? We just stayed home, watched TV, played with Vera, went to the mall and look for a bed. we stopped by Toy kingdom since I was planning to buy Vera her own chair and table. While I was looking at Little Tikes' catalog, hamey placed Vera in the Police CycleSounds™ Rocker. She likes it very much that she whines when we try getting her off the rocker. She liked it better than the plain pink one which I think is more suitable for her since she's a girl. *teehee* As I was scanning thru the online catalog, I saw that they have an Elmo Rocker. Hopefully they have one of this available here. This might work for Vera since she knows who Elmo is. :)

Wish list#13: Flat Screen TV

And since we are having an additional cable line for our room, I wish to change our TV to this one, an LCD TV, to maximize the space in our room. I should have agreed to my mom last year. She was suppose to buy one in the states since it was on sale. I just don't know how big it was but she told me it's perfect for our room and it's only $199 then. Argh! Sayang!

What I learned today...

I learned that it's much faster for me to browse my "special" sites in IE than in Firefox. But it will not be an issue regardless of what browser I use if I upgrade or change my laptop and get a much higher, up to date specs. Forever P4 user! grrrr...

Reminiscing the good old (pregnancy) days

I was talking to Cez the other day and I was reminiscing the time when I was pregnant with Vera. In 2005, 3 month before I got pregnant, I was warned by my endocrinologist that I have a great chance of getting Gestational Diabetes when I got pregnant because I had a sugar history that shoot up but not something I have to worry about.

When I got pregnant in 2006, I remember what my endocrinologist told me so I watched my diet. I was not really big when I got pregnant. I only gained about 20 pounds all throughout (and haven’t lost the 15 of it) and some even think that I was just on my second trimester when I was already in my last. I never experienced having maternity clothes, maternity jeans, or the likes. I was not to keen on buying something I wouldn’t be able to use afterwards. I was determined to lose all the pregnancy weight I gain when I was still pregnant. And I think it’s more practical specially here in the Philippines, maternity stuff doesn’t come cheap. But I told hamey that if I was in the US, it will be different. They have nicer, fashionable maternity clothes there. They have Gap, Old Navy and Motherhood Maternity among others.

There are a lot of things I want to do differently whenever I got pregnant again. Well, let’s wait (about 3-4 years maybe) and see what happens. *grins*

Did you know that wipes are not only good in cleaning stuff like the baby’s tooshie, wipes for the hands, mouth or face, counter tops, etc. When I was still working in my previous company, not that they are related with wipes, I learned that wipes are also handy when ever you get accidental spill on your shirt or clothes. It works like those Tide-to-go pens which I haven’t really tried, just saw it in Meijer one time, hehe. But I tried using wipes and it works perfectly well. That reminds me, I have to buy one, since I’m super clumsy. *LOL*

Sex and the City trailer

Are you a fan of Sex and the City series (of HBO)? Did you know that they filmed a movie and there's already a trailer being shown? It says it's coming out on May 2008, I wish it would be worldwide and not just in the US. If you haven't seen it, click here to see the trailer. Enjoy!

My inay, an insurance agent, introduced tri-life to us in February 2005. It’s an insurance you have to pay for 21 years (yes, that long). But what’s good about this one is that every three years, it gives you a sort of 10% dividend of your premium. And since we got one it in 2005, we got our first dividend two weeks ago, nice no? And if I’m not mistaken, your premium will increase by 10% every three years. So if you have a 100,000 premium, you get 10,000 on the third year and at the same time your premium will now be 110,000. So after another three years, you get 11,000 dividend and 11000 increase in premium, so on and so forth. Isn’t it great? This was what I wanted to get for Vera when I was still pregnant with her. If not this one, I’d like to get the Dollar Educational Plan for her. And since I’m back to work, I could probably invest before Vera turns 2. I think we already have some family life insurance so this will probably be my next step for this year, among others. *grins*

Finally

I am deprived of TV in th evenings ever sine I gave birth to Vera, not counting the days we were in the US since we have a TV in our room there. As I was saying, I don't have the privilege to watch anything at nights since I'm the one looking after Vera at nights. We have a unit inside our room but it doesn't really serves it purpose not until this Sunday. I think hamey bought this TV 3 years ago and guess why. He just wants to play his PS in our room and since we don't have a TV inside the room, he bought one, ganda ng solusyon no?

While talking to hamey awhile ago, I asked him if we can have additional cable line installed for our TV. There are really nice stuff i want to watch at night. American Idol (of course to watch our kababayan), CSI season 8 is going to start on March 5 (Happy birthday best friend!) and of course, there's HBO, Star Movies, Kapuso channel *LOL* (I missed Coffee Prince, tapos/patapos na ba?), Tsismaks galore! Disney Channel (I miss Raven, hehehe) At least now I'll be able to watch all of these in our room. Wipee!!!!

Long weekend ahead

Hooray for this one! I'll have lots of time to spend with Vera and blogging and opps and hamey who is sick right now. The virus started with Vera, it always starts with her. *LOL* Then to yaya J who will pass it on to yaya G. Then me (from Vera) then last is hamey (bakit kaya? hmmmm *grins*)

Anyway, I probably have so many things to blog this weekend specially about my new job, the experience and the advantages/disadvantages of working in Ortigas, plans for the weekend, Vera, etc. Will try to do that later. It's 12:25AM right now. Woke up to check hamey who's sleeping in Vera's room. Wawa naman.

Back to work

I started working again yesterday. How was it? I did fine. I survived the day without crying! *LOL* Don't get me wrong, I missed Vera. I was so excited to go home to see her. And what about her? Well, she wasn't so excited to see me. She was more excited to see her daddy. ganen! She's still happy to see me. I love her smile and kisses. It lessen the headache I was feeling last night. *sigh*

Vera seems to know that starting tomorrow I'll be away from her the whole day. She's so clingy today. She doesn't want to sit in her high chair, instead, she wants to sit in my lap while she eats. She cries when she doesn't see me. She's so different today, talo pa ang nagp-PMS! O my! Is this what's going to happen starting tomorrow? I hope not.

How am I right now

I'll be starting my new job tomorrow and most people I know asks me, "Are you excited?". My honest answer is no. I'm more nervous than excited. Why? As I've said here, I haven't worked (as an IT professional) for almost 4 years and this is my second chance and have to prove my worth. Secondly, I'm commuting from work and I'm not familiar with this place yet. I know I can bring my own car but, katamad e. Third, new job means new people. Last but not the least, Vera. I don't know what to expect. Can I handle being away from her the whole day for 5 days in a week after being with her every single day for 16 months? buhuhuhu. I really hope I can adjust well. Para sa yo to anak!

And for all the readers of this blog, special mention to the working moms out there, para sa inyo ito!

More renovation

We use curtains in the 80’s. Then in the 90’s we changed it to roller shades specifically in the bedrooms. Then before Vera was born, we changed ours back to curtains and I plan to change the blinds on Vera’s room to curtains again, just like what we have in our room. It looks more refreshing for me. And I think it’s good to choose blinds if you intend to use the air condition more often which we are not.

It's really hard to lose weight

I have been planning on losing weight since I got back from the states and up until now, nothing has changed! *LOL* I am a lifetime member of one of the oldest gym here in the Philippines and I have never lasted more than two consecutive months exercising. My main purpose then was to tone my abs (ala Janet Jackson-abs). I think it is the hardest part to tone.

Anyway, hamey and I were actually suppose to go to the gym this morning. He needs to lose weight (badly). He’s also a lifetime member but just like me, he doesn’t go regularly. I remember 3 years ago that he even drinks this chocolate protein supplement after going to the gym. He can probably have this (legal) prohormones to help him convert those fats to muscles much faster. I hope he wouldn’t look ala Arnold Schwarzenegger after awhile. *grins*

Bathroom renovation

We are planning to renovate our bathroom for the nth time (4th to be exact). We no longer use the tub so it just makes sense if we remove it. I like what my mom did with her bathroom. I think she bought the complete DIY Shower here at the depot outside our village. Perhaps I can also change all our faucets to a Hansgrohe faucet, cheapest shower faucet goes around $320 (about PHP12,800). *grins*

When I was a kid…

Have you tried using a magnifier to create fire? When I was a kid, I tried experimenting using a magnifying glass. I brought my magnifying glass outside during day time and let the sun beam on it. Under the glass is a piece of paper. They say that this process will eventually burn the paper. I was successful burning a small hole in the paper but I was not successful in creating a fire. It was just like a burning cigarette. Some kids did cruel things like burning an ant using a magnifying glass. I can’t actually remember if it really burnt the ant but it’s so mean. Did you ever do that when you were a kid? I hope not!

Is golf for you?

I have never played golf in my life. I have seen golf balls, golf clubs and I have been to playing grounds but never tried it even once. Oh, just remembered that I have played golf… in the computer. *LOL* I don't think that the sport is for me. But if Tiger Woods is willing to teach me for free then I would gladly be of service. *grins*
