a real post

Hello blogging world! A little update on us.

Remember that I got sick 3 weeks ago? It lasted for about a week. It started with a sore throat, a fever then colds and a little coughing on the side. I think this is what caused Vera's Viral Infection last week. Her fever never lasts more than 24 hours before. This got us worried plus the fact that her temperature's average is on the high 38s. I was not a bit worried on the first 3 days but on the afternoon of the third day when yaya G called to tell me that they found a little streak of blood on Vera's diaper, that got me worried and tensed! My initial reaction was she probably got UTI. It was a Tuesday and hamey and I are both at work. Tuesday means coding. Coding means we can't leave not until pass 7 in the evening. Good thing I was able to talk to Vera's Pediatrician and she just told me to bring Vera to the hospital for laboratory tests (Urinalysis and CBC). She was calm which helped me stayed calm for the rest of the day. I called Yaya J to prepare Vera's stuff, we'll go home to get Vera and bring her immediately to the hospital.

Vera was confined in the ER for about 3 hours since we waited for her to pee for the urinalysis. She's the type of baby you wouldn't suspect that something is wrong. She plays, sings and run from one end to the other end of the ER crib. Sabi nga nung Med. Tech., sana ganyan ka pa din kahit after kita kunan ng blood. *grins* She cried for a while, it seems that she has a high pain tolerance unlike me. Madaling mapatahan.

The result came positive for UTI. She was prescribed to take antibiotics by the ER Doctor. The following day, her fever reached 39. We plan to administer the antibiotic but she wouldn't want to eat. So we just decided to bring her again to the ER. It says naman if fever reached 101F, bring to ER.

to be continued...

I am addicted

Yes! I am addicted to blogging. I'm here in Batangas having a vacation and yet here I am blogging! Well, when there's an opportunity, there's a need to blog! hahaha!!! *LOL* So there, you know what this post means *wink*

I got the chance to design a logo for my multiply site. Is it good or bad? I don’t really have a good eye for stuff like this. For me, the simpler the better. :D

Doing your own logo design is just simple.

- First step is to choose what type of company you have, in my term I see it as serious and formal, semi-formal and or funky. I choose mine as funky.
- Next is to choose the companies category. I choose children since most of the stuff I’m selling are for babies or kids.
- Next is to choose what kind of picture logo you want. I had difficulties on this one. There are lots to choose from!
- Then next is putting name with the picture logo.
- And lastly is the layout and colors of the logos.

That simple! I made mine in less than 10 minutes considering I had difficulties in choosing a picture logo.

a speedy gonzales post

Hello blogging world! We just came back from our 3 day stay in the hospital due to Vera's Viral Infection. The initial diagnosis was UTI but good thing after they did a second lab exam, results came negative of any signs of UTI. *sigh of relief*

Will try to post again later, got to pack again for an overnight stay in Batangas. We'll surprise my mom. (psst Lila, if you're going to be able to read this before the event actually happens, MALAKING SECRET ITO HA! and I am trying to call you, kuntsaba sis, I need a kakuntsaba!)

Story behind my poll

Here's what happened. I was brushing my teeth in the building's common comfort room when suddenly this woman opened the toilet door with such effort that the door slammed in the wall making a loud sound. I looked at the direction and saw/caught the woman in the act of flushing the toilet... with her hands! I almost gagged at the site. What's worse was, she did not wash her hands! And what's even worst was that (are you ready for this?) she powdered her face using a loose baby powder, get the picture. Using her hand to put powder in her face! OMG!!!

Ok, for those who answered "Yes, what's wrong with that", here's my take. Public toilets are not 100% or will never be 100% clean. I assume that when you use your hand when flushing is that you wash your hands after. My sister who's a nurse taught me that after washing our hands, use a tissue to open the door.

And for those who doesn't flush the toilet, Please!

Do you have a need for used cisco? Who or What is Cisco? They are the world's leading supplier of networking equipments and network management for the internet. Most big companies I think uses Cisco technology for their networking needs. I don't think it's applicable with small enterprises or home use not unless you deal with big businesses at home. I don't :D

Do you need bathroom vanities for your bathroom? Where else can we get good set of bathroom vanities here in the Philippines? Al I know is Wilcon Builders and Home Improvements(?!). How I wish that there will be a lot of options here in our country specially in the internet where you can research first without going out and spending lots of gas from traveling and not to mention, traffic! *sigh* This is what I miss most in the US, I can look for stuff in the internet first before buying it. An the greatest thing about internet is, I can buy anything from the net :D

Wish list #18: Massage Chair

If hamey wants to have a Lazy Boy chair at home, I want to have a massage chair to relieve stress. Wouldn't it be great to come home to a relaxing chair? Well, it is still incomparable to the effect of the smile, hugs and kisses I get from Vera every time I arrived from work. But it wouldn't hurt if I get one of this and have the pleasure of a home massage once in a while :D

Did you ever wish to have or own any air tools at home? I wanted to have those powered screwdrivers. At least with those, I am sure I have secure screw things properly. I have this fear specially in securing tires from a car where I would not be able to secure it properly and the tire will eventually fly off from the car while in motion. Morbid? It did happen but not to me and it almost cause a big accident. Imagine driving in SLEX at 100kph then all of a sudden the vehicles in front of you suddenly stopped because the tire of a vehicle flew to the other direction. We suddenly stopped! Not slow down. Good thing no body was hurt that time. Good thing the tire hit the hood of the car and not its windshield! I was a little bit shocked that time and stopped at the nearby gasoline station first. It was one of my unforgettable experience with driving.

I was amazed to see my aunt's place in Illinois where she has a complete Bose home theater system. She is not your typical "gadgety" know-how person and that's why we were kind of amazed that she has the latest gadgets you could ever imagine. In additional to the stuff she has, she asked us to buy her the 160Gb iPod and an iTrip before we head to Illinois (from Michigan). When we got there, the next thing she did was to ask hamey to help her buy a house speaker for her iPod. She bought not just a simple speaker but a Bose. Wow! Imagine that! I wonder how she updates her iPod, hehehe.

Did you know that progesterone is called the pregnancy hormone? It is used to support pregnancy (which is a "virus" spreading this year, hehehe) and has many roles in the developing fetus*.

Additional information from wikipedia:

It also inhibits lactation during pregnancy and the levels are relatively low in children and postmenopausal women. Adult males have levels similar to those in women during the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle.

Will I ever buy a bus for sale? Not really. What I really wanted to have is a shuttle business either to and from Makati or to and from Ortigas. I already tried computing for the net income if ever I have a shuttle to and from Ortigas (2 trips only) and it will compensate for all the expenses from the gasoline, toll gate, driver and maintenance which is really fine with me. The primary use of the driver really is for Vera and my mom. Since both hamey and I work, I plan to hire a driver for Vera so she and my mom can go out anytime they want plus if there's an emergency (knock on wood), someone who knows how to drive is on standby. Wouldn't it be nice. Well, got to really work hard for that and maybe in the near future, we'll be able to hire a driver for them. *wishful thinking!*

Just a reminder: April is the financial reporting or the ITR month. Those who have businesses and or those who are employed should know that they are obligated to pass their Annual Income Tax Return for 2007 to the BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenues) on or before April 15 to avoid penalties. As long as you had a business transaction or was employed for only about a month, you still need to submit an ITR. Better double check you activities last year or else, the BIR might hunt you down.

OMG! I have 11 opportunities to finish by this weekend! I need help! It was kind of flattering when I was awarded with more opportunities this week because of my track record. Really, wow! I have to find time tomorrow to finish all of these. We still have a debut to attend to this evening and hopefully I can still blog tonight about it and do more opps. Plus, I hope I can blog about my experience with CFO, for the sake of others whose first reaction was like that of hamey's. :D

When you hear addiction treatment, do you always think of drugs? Addiction is not only about drugs. It can also be about gambling, addicted to work, addicted to driving fast cars, addicted to coffee, addicted to shoes (ehem!), to clothes, to technology and many other things. Most of all, there is also what we call, Addicted to Love which I think no treatment can ever cure. Corny! *LOL*

I have always dreamt of having a caribbean cruises for a vacation but that would mean lots of money and time to spend. Really applicable for newly married couple as a honeymoon getaway. Perhaps, I can still fulfill this dream when Vera can already live on her own. Or when we are already in our senior year (hopefully not) or when hamey wins the lotto. *giggles* Well, all I can have now is to hold on to that dream. Hopefully one day we can have it. *naks!*

Is it time?

They say that you'd know it's time to potty train your kids when they show signs. These are the signs I got from BabyCenter. Let me check if Vera is ready to be trained or not.

Physical signs

(Y ) > Is coordinated enough to walk, and even run, steadily.
(NS) > Urinates a fair amount at one time.
(NR) > Has regular, well-formed bowel movements at relatively predictable times.
(NS) > Has "dry" periods of at least three or four hours, which shows that his bladder muscles are developed enough to hold urine.

Behavioral signs

(Y ) > Can sit down quietly in one position for two to five minutes.
(N ) > Can pull his pants up and down.
(Y ) > Dislikes the feeling of wearing a wet or dirty diaper.
(Y ) > Shows interest in others' bathroom habits (wants to watch you go to the bathroom or wear underwear.
(Y ) > Gives a physical or verbal sign when he's having a bowel movement such as grunting, squatting, or telling you.
(Y ) > Demonstrates a desire for independence.
(Y ) > Takes pride in his accomplishments.
(NS) > Isn't resistant to learning to use the toilet.
(NR) > Is in a generally cooperative stage, not a negative or contrary one.

Cognitive signs

(Y ) > Can follow simple instructions, such as "go get the toy."
(Y ) > Understands the value of putting things where they belong.
(Y ) > Has words for urine and stool.
(NS) > Understands the physical signals that mean he has to go and can tell you before it happens or even hold it until he has time to get to the potty.

Y = Yes
N = No
NS = Not Sure
NR = Not Really :D

So what do you think? She definitely tells us when she already has poop, even when she farts. *grins* She's been like this even when she was still a baby. She feels cries every time after she poops as if telling me she's uncomfortable with it. Well, I'll just probably wait until she asks me directly to accompany her to the comfort room to poop or make wiwi. :D Pwede na ba yun?

Argh! There’s still no change in my weight. I already feel I shed some since my pants are all getting bigger. Or so it seems! What are the best weight loss pills available here and is 100% effective? I can only think one but what I heard from others is that you should be prepared to be in the bathroom most of the time or at least wear an adult diaper. :D I’ve been kidding hamey to give me money for liposuction instead. *grins* When he wins the lotto he said. When could that be?

The Trend

Have you noticed the news trend with the Hollywood stars? There was a time that stars are fighting an eating disorder. Then DUI (Driving Under the Influence). Then drug rehabilitation. In the Philippines, you often here something like this. What mostly shuck people here are pregnancy related news from teenagers or unwed couples or couples who separates after more than a decade of being married. I wonder how bad news were during my parents time? Oh, I don’t want to think about how bad it’s going to be in the future. I just hope, wish and pray that I’ll be able to guide Vera in the right direction. *cross fingers*

Meme #20: Since I have nothing better to do...

Let's start with the meme posts again.

I was one of Haze's featured friend in her blog, thanks mommy for being my online friend. :)

And here are my featured friends:
1. Shaui is one of my featured friends even if I know she wouldn't do this. Drama ito, but I'd like to thank you for the 19 years we've been friends, :D.
2. So when Shaui makes her featured friends for the week, she has to include my name and she should pick 4 or 5 more from her own list of friends.
3. She has to inform ALL her featured friends to keep the ball rolling. If you use Blogger, you can add your featured friends using the new page element ‘Link List’.

And here are my other Featured Friends:

Mama Mee, Maver, and Jeanny and Haze.

You can read everything about how this Featured Friend started by reading here and here. So keep it rolling.

For my featured friends here’s my badge for you.

Another gas update

We're back at Macapagal Ave. for the cheapest unleaded in the south. If you work in Pasig, gasoline station in Shaw and Kapitolyo also have cheap gas. I'm not yet sure with Total gas in Pasig if the price I saw is for unleaded. It's only 42+. We'll try to pass that station one of these days. I only have a view of it from the c5 bridge.

This I also learn from hamey, E10 gas is eco friendly. The only Shell E10 I know is at west service road between Alabang and Sucat. Price as of this writing is 45.07. It's almost 2 pesos cheaper than the regular unleaded price. Please let me know if you know any Shell station with E10. Thanks!

Under the Weather

I haven't had a decent post about me or Vera or hamey these past few days. Nights are spend playing with Vera and we almost always sleep in our bed together even if she has her own bed. I usually say to myself that I'll wake up after 30 minutes to an hour to transfer her in her bed and do my blog hopping and blogging for updates. There are lots of thing I want to really tell you guys and I hope I find time again to post more updates specially about Vera. I'm not feeling too well right now but hopefully this won't get worst. I'll just probably rest this weekend and be back to blogging next week. Don't worry, I blog hop every time I can and save all the tags passed on to me, hehe.

See you around. Babush!

annoyed or shocked?

I don't know if I am going to be irritated yesterday or was just plain shocked when I got a text message from someone who is offering for a low interest rate for a Payday Loans or of sorts. She got my number from Sir B who owns this service here in Ortigas en route to our village. I mean, I know Sir B was just helping this other girl earn money by advertising her product or services but I am not really used to getting messages from other people who got my number thru another person just by simply wanting to advertise something. I just hope she'll never text again about stuff like this. I know her intentions were good and that I can actually benefit from it if ever the need arises. I already got her flyer and saved it for future reference. So friends, if you need one, just let me know and I'll refer you to her. :D

Meme #18: Love DNA

I was tagged by Em but didn't realized at once what the meme is all about. I think I did my Love DNA before I was even tagged by Em. Got the idea from missyosiGirl from twitter.

Anyway, here's my DNA... in case you are interested :D

The "virus"

J and I were talking about the "virus" yesterday. What's the virus all about? It actually affects women than men. Sirit? Well, it's the pregnancy bug. I know about 7 or 8 people who are currently pregnant. One of those is the wife of my bil (brother-in-law). We already started giving some of Vera's used items to them like the Travel System we got from Tita J. Since they are having a baby boy, I can't let them use some of Vera's newborn stuff. Only those in plain white or color that a boy can wear. Some other baby gifts we still have here at home are not yet suitable for newborns, it will have to wait. :)

Anyway, going back to the "virus," 2 of the people I know were asking how they can actually get the bug. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you. Hopefully though, you get bitten soon.

Meme Pause

I have lots and lots of meme to do... I'll have to take a break, mag-grocery pa kami. :D

Meme's to come:

> 10 recent things that made me happy meme from Jeanny my meme here
> Love DNA from Em my meme here
> the Photobucket meme from Em and Maver my meme here
> Featured Friend meme from Haze my meme here
> Friendship Chain from May my meme here
> if I have more time, I like to snag The Seven Deadly Sins meme from Haze also. But this, I think, I have to post in my other blog. :D

Others:
> Big Hug post, got one again from Kitts... thanks kitts! :)

dami nyan a!

Later, babush!

Meme #16: My Personality Test

I was tagged by Jody (thanks for this one!) about my personality. We got to know each other as the wedding coordinator (Jody) and the client (me). Then we met again in a yahoo group and now in the blogging word. The last time I saw Jody was after the wedding when I brought our thank you gift for her. Sana nasarapan ka sa embotido, suman at kapeng barako (That's the only thing I can personally think of giving, all from Batangas. Mahirap mag-isip ng iba e!)

Anyway, here's my result. I'm too lazy to copy-paste the wordings... PrtSc (Print screen) na lang :D

Weekend blogging

Before I start completing my opps, tags and blog hopping, I would just like to let you guys know (specially to those who know about our future BIG plan) that we already got a call from our agent about a week ago and of course it's a positive news. I was so ecstatic when I heard the good news but it didn't really last more than half a day. Hehe. Para akong nabunutan ng tinik! This was more than two years in the making and was actually expecting to receive the result this month. So what's our plan now? Well, knowing how fickle minded hamey is, anything can still happen. Perhaps, ask me again on September or after a year, then I'll let you know the final plan. :D

That's it... I'm off to my tasksssssss now... :)
