Happy 4 years to my one and only hamey! *naks!* drama! Here's to more years to us and one more baby in the near future. HAHAHAHA!!!!

Need I say more?

Actually, this is the second time I tried this one. The first one is posted in my other blog. Much like the other one cause it says there that Vera looks EQUALLY like mommy and daddy. *grins* O well, it's a known fact from day 1, Vera really looks so much like her daddy. =)

Another need-to-post-this-one post.

I never really had problems with Vera when it comes to teaching or giving her a routine like brushing her teeth. Sometimes wala sa mood, nagloloka lokahan lang. She's one curious girl and what mommy or daddy does, she wants to do also. Ako pa kamo ang nagtatago when brushing my teeth because she wants to grab my brush and motions me to brush her teeth!

Anyway, I bought her Chicco Banana flavored toothpaste last Friday and now, ayaw na talaga paawat! Wala lang, proud mommy moment. I hope your kids are having fun brushing their teeth also =) Syaka na ulit ang ibang kwento, marami pa ito!

Sometimes, the difference between a savings account and a checking account is that checking accounts are a lot more "high maintenance." Good thing not all banks are like this. I have one that is a combination of both. It's a savings account with ATM and a cheque book, earning interest every month and with low maintaining balance compared to their regular checking account. Galing no? I've been with the bank for 5 years now and hope to continue banking with them as long as they give good (and respectful) services to their clients :)

An update

I have to post this one. :D

I've been concerned with Vera's weight recently since it never changed for the past two months. She didn't gain or lose some weight. When we went to Dr. E for her regular visit, I asked Dr. E regarding PC (Primary Complex) since I learned from Jody that one of the symptoms she saw from Margaux is that she is not gaining weight. Dr. E gave me or rather Vera a new Vitamin to take and told me if this will not work then Dr. E will have Vera tested for PC next month.

How is Vera now? Thank God she improved! She's gaining and you could actually see it in her body and face. She's heavy and much like eat, sleep and drink milk once in a while which she don't usually do before. *sigh of relief* At least she wouldn't have to go thru any tests next month, only another round of flu shot. *teehee*

By the way, Vera used to drink Kiddie Pharmaton but was now changed to Propan. She still takes the iron supplement, Incremin and Heraclene and her milk is Lactum 1+ chocolate.

So there, a little update on Vera. I have more to tell but will TRY do that on my next entry.

Marriage

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew. I didn't love her
anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me
for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Dew about my wife's divorce conditions. She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't
tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her
hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind... I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank, blah..blah.. blah. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

This is almost one week late but...

Thank you maver for this one!

To all the mom's out there, hope you had fun on our special day! I did greet you here :D

Meme Time

I think I owe a lot of my fellow blogger friends some meme. Anong some!? A LOT!!! I'll try to work on some and post worthy posts so that you wouldn't say na walang kwenta to stop by here. Drama! Honestly, I can't really keep up. Kung dati I have so much time to blog, chat and mag petiks petiks, now... let's just say that among other stuff, one of the most important thing I look forward to is our bed. So tired that I just want to sleep whenever I can! I should probably start taking Enervon C, "more Energy mas Happy"! *yawn!*

Wow! Imagine, I’ve been deprived of summer vacations for 3 consecutive years now! Summer vacations = beach vacations. The last time I went to the beach was in 2005 for our second year anniversary. We had plans of going to Davao Pearl Farm last February 2006 but had to cancel since we found out that I was pregnant day after we bought the tickets. *giggle* Last year, we were in the US during summer here in the Philippines but was able to go to Palawan in October week after Vera’s birthday. And again, missed another vacation this year since I just got started from my new job and I am not yet entitled to vacation leaves with pay. Though we are going to have a vacation this coming June, it’s way different since we’re going somewhere not for a summer vacation since it’s almost winter down there. Hopefully by next year we will be able to have my much awaited summer vacation. I’ll be planning ahead!

Anyway, if you want an island getaway you my try checking hilton head rentals. Check Hilton head island rentals for some family fun or Hilton head vacation rentals for the complete listing. For sure, I’d be utterly jealous.

Dear Papa Jesus

As much as possible, Vera and I pray together at night before we go to sleep. A week or two ago, I heard Vera praying... shortcut.

Dear Papa Jesus,

Thank you!
Love you!
Good night!

The complete version goes something like this:

Dear Papa Jesus,

Thank you for today. Thank you for keeping me healthy and strong. Thank you for keeping everybody I love healthy and strong. (then special intentions). Love you Papa Jesus. Good night!

the family that blogs together...

This is just so funny. I've been bugging my little-big sis to start blogging (and earning) since she's been, well, a bit of a bum right now. Sayang naman ang oras. That's not the funny thing. Awhile ago, hamey was also thinking of starting his own blog upon learning the amount i earn from it. And just now, little-big sis just told me that she has persuaded someone to go on blogging. My one and only bro! *LOL* I'll give you the links after we're done tinkering with it. I've been helping little sis with hers and I think it's almost done. My bro's topic would be about being a domesticated "young" father! YOUNG daw o! kapal mo bro! Ano ko, grade school? :P Kidding! Stay tune, I like his posts!

I have been contemplating on submitting Vera’s pictures to some ad agencies for modeling opportunity but the husband does not approve. O well, I guess it is just one of my frustrations in life, get what I mean?

Anyway, there’s a world wide Look of the Year beauty contest where you can win US$10,000.00. For more information go to http://www.lookoftheyear.com

Remember the time when there were a lot of truck accidents in Coastal road because of it being a right hand drive? I wonder if there is a truck accident lawyer here in our country. I know there are lawyers here but do we have specific lawyers who cater only to this? Wouldn’t it be nice if you do? What do you think?

What are patch panels? According to wiki:

A patch panel or patch bay is a panel, typically rackmounted, that houses cable connections. One typically shorter patch cable will plug into the front side, while the back will hold the connection of a much longer and more permanent cable. The assembly of hardware is arranged so that a number of circuits, usually of the same or similar type, appear on jacks for monitoring, interconnecting, and testing circuits in a convenient, flexible manner.

Patch panels offer the convenience of allowing technicians to quickly change the path of select signals, without the expense of dedicated switching equipment. This was first used by early telephone exchanges, where the telephone switchboard (a massive array of patch panels) and a large room full of telephone operators running it was ubiquitous.

Before hamey bought me an iPod shuffle, the only player I was relying to was my mobile phone. I tune to may favorite radio station specially during work outs. (Naks, sounds as if I do it religiously), I never had an mp3 player before this one. When I asked hamey to buy me one specifically for gym use, I was thinking of an mp3 player with a FM tuner. There’s a specific time I like to tune into my favorite radio show and I wouldn’t want to miss it. But hamey insisted that he’d rather by me an iPod than any other brand plus with a shuffle, you don’t need a case nor a pocket to hold the player. Guess what, I seldom use the player since I have no more time to go to the gym. Hay! That’s another thing I have to consider to with my time management project. *teehee*

The best acne treatment I had so far is Diane 35. I had a breakout recently and I suspect it is due to my hormonal imbalance. Though I just had my first pack, results are fairly good. I’ll try to take Diane for about 3 months, at most six months and will stop taking it again to see if I can manage without it. Hopefully I can.

On her eighth month, we found out that Vera has a Class II allergy with egg whites. We don’t think she needs to wear a medical idD in case of emergency. For about 10 months and egg whites once in a while, she never once got rashes in any part of her body. We never had her tested again. They say that Vera may eventually outgrow the allergy. Hopefully she already did.

Did you notice that most of my post today is more on reminiscing past events? Ok, since it’s the month of May, let’s reminisce more on what happened almost four years ago. What is it? Figure it out :D

Anyway, I had a bathroom renovation before the big event. Changed everything from faucet to tiles to bathtub. Everything except the wall tiles. If budget allows me, I want it changed again. I’d like to remove the bathtub and changed it to just a shower like what my mom did to hers a year ago. Bahala na.

IGA NA UTAK KO! *LOL* six more to go!!! Ang hirap talaga sumideline, *giggles*

My dad has a collection of wines. Take note, it is my dads collection, not mine. I just realized that we had a wine rack in our bridal registry 4 years ago (and I forgot who even gave that to us – blame it on the anesthesia) *grins* What could be my reason then for placing one in our bridal registry. I don’t collect nor drink. Hamey drinks occasionally but he never collects. Maybe he’s still young to even have a collection. *grins* What do you think? At least we don't need more wine racks at the moment.

What is a fiber cable? According to wiki:

An optical fiber (or fibre) is a glass or plastic fiber that carries light along its length. Fiber optics is the overlap of applied science and engineering concerned with the design and application of optical fibers. Optical fibers are widely used in fiber-optic communication, which permits transmission over longer distances and at higher data rates than other forms of communications. Fibers are used instead of metal wires because signals travel along them with less loss, and they are immune to electromagnetic interference. Optical fibers are also used to form sensors, and in a variety of other applications.

Because they are non-electrical, fiber cables can bridge very high electrical potential differences and can be used in environments where explosive fumes are present, without danger of ignition.

Life insurance rates are widely available in the internet. It is a matter of good marketing and good reviews from people to make one company better than the others. As for me, I always get good rates from my inay if I need to check for any insurance rates. Why her? Well, she’s an insurance agent. So, if you need one... *wink! wink!*

What is your dream watch? Do you actually have one? Mine is a Philip Stein watch. I bet if my dad is still alive, he would probably want a Rolex Daytona. No, I doubt it. You see, my dad is a simple man. He only wears a watch to work, watch that was given to him. He never bought a watch even if his old one is dying on him at times. He’s more on the practical side. He never owned a pager nor a mobile phone. I wonder if he’d change if he were alive.

time is (really) gold

I was a SAHM for about a year and had time for all the things I want to do like taking good care of Vera, blogging and connecting to friends. Yun nga lang I was not earning extra for the family. Now that I'm working and mostly away for more than 12 hours a day, I can't find it difficult to manage my time. Actually, I need to find how to at least give an hour or two for blogging but doing it inside our bedroom is not really a good idea. *grins* I feel so tired coming from work and most of my available time are spent with Vera. I barely have enough strength to stand up after putting Vera to bed. Nakakahawa.

So, how do you do it? Pressure ito!

a new shopaholic's (online) store

Are you a shopaholic? Wait, are you an online shopaholic like someone I know who prefers shopping online that to actually go to the mall to buy stuff. Where’s the exercise in there huh? *giggles* If you are an online shopaholic, there’s a new way to shop online. Shopwiki.com revolutionizes online shopping by searching or crawling thru every store on the internet. This means you get to load just one page and search anything or any brand you want.

You may try to look for jewelries and watches, or clothes for you or your baby which they also have what they call Clothing Resource Guide for style or fashion resources.

If you want to spend your extra loots *wink*, you may want to try looking around this site, it might interest you. *wink* *wink*

Mommastuff week 2: Do you have routines for your kids?

I was invited by n!ce to join the Mommastuff Weekly Questions. They are now on 2nd week and the question is: Do you have routines for your kids? Does it really help?

Vera's routine in the morning is breakfast between 8AM - 9AM depending what time she woke up or earlier if she tells me or yaya yum-yum. Yum-yum means she wants to eat, now! *grins*

Then she takes a bath before 10AM. Watch her favorite shows in Disney Playhouse while drying up her hair. She drinks her milk while watching TV and takes a nap. She'll wake up in time for lunch. After lunch, they watch another round of her favorite cartoon series or asked yaya to play the videos of either Elmo, Tigger and Pooh or Barney that I recently bought for her. She'll sing and dance with whatever is in the video. She'll then have another milk around 2PM and usually takes her afternoon nap. Wakes up in time for mirienda, plays with the yayas or play with her friends when it's not scourging hot outside. Dinner then plays, dances or sings with the yayas while waiting for us.

Around 8PM or when we are already at home (from work) or when she's alraedin the mood to go up to our room, she'll just say "akyat" and gets this mini basket where we put three bottles with water and the milk powder container.

This is our quality time with Vera, we play until she asks for her milk. Milk means sleeping time. :D By the way, putting her to sleep is not easy, while lying in her bed drinking her milk, she needs and I must give my elbow. She wants to hold ones elbow until she fells asleep. This is the only part I want to change. I started training her to sleep without my elbow, I just give her my hand and held hers until she fells asleep or let go of my hand.

:)
