Today was a hectic day. Both hubby and I were scheduled for series of tests. I had EMG for breakfast and EEG for dessert after lunch.
Since last year, I was feeling quite uncomfortable with how my left arm and leg sometimes feel. The neurologists term was lazy or weak. It’s not painful, just uncomfortable. And since I have a healthcard care of hubby’s company, I decided to have a consultation with a neurologist since the 2 week Neurobion intake didn’t really change anything. It helped though when I was still taking it.
Anyway, the Neurologist asked me to take EMG and EEG since he thinks I could have a Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) or a swelled nerve or something else connected with the nerves. The doctor warned me that EMG could be a little bit painful. And that kind of freaked me out. Mababa ang pain tolerance ko! Hubby saw my discomfort kaya siguro nya nasabi na nanganak na ko (referring to the pain of childbirth, guessing that it’s the most painful thing in the world). Hello?! I had epidural after withstanding 1 hour of painful labor.
EMG, according to the doctor, is just like acupuncture. A needle will be used to poke me. I really haven’t trued acupuncture so I have no idea what so ever. So here comes test day, prepared for the worse. Freaked out more when I had to sign a clause that I have understood the pain and effect of the procedure. E hindi naman kaya na explain sa kin. I calmed down when the guy I was talking to assured me that there are no permanent damage, just the pain I would experience during the test. So gano ba talaga kasakit? Anak ng *toot* *toot*! It was #$%@!@# painful! Umiyak ang lola nyo! It was not about the poking but what happens after. Actually, poking is not the term. They insert a very small needle type of probe to pass on light electricity to your nerves. Disabling grabe! I was able to hold on to my tears when the doctor was doing it in both my arms but when she did it to my nape, ayun, d ko na napigilan! Para akong bata sobbing in the corner of the room.
Hopefully I won’t have to do that procedure again! Kahit libre pa! Ano ko, hilo!
By the way, I got the result after 15 minutes but it was all medical term but I understood one part, I have CTS! Will learn more about this after my next consultation with my doctor.
on a side note, need Mesothelioma lawyer?
